I’ve struggled with my face for about 20 years now. Not acne, but dry patches that flake and peel. My face is always covered with red blotches of dead skin. I often have to Photoshop these patches out of my photographs because I’m so embarassed by them. I’d been to dermatologists and all I ever heard was “use Cortizone and Neutrogena.” Cortizone is indeed helpful, but Neutrogena is too harsh. Almost any over the counter product will strip a sensitized face, like mine, and make in impossible to heal. I’ve tried everything. Even things that people with severe Eczema tout. Nothing ever worked.
Last night my skin was in bad shape. I was worried about how sickly I would look today at work, as I was representing my company at a convention. But Dermalogica saved me! Here’s all I did:
I skipped using the Ultracalming Cleanser For Face & Eyes because my skin had already been washed enough with water. (I’ve learned not to cleanse with a product everyday if I don’t wear makeup.) Instead I went straight to the Gentle Soothing Booster followed by Barrier Repair. That was all I did before going to bed. (I have also learned that the less product, no matter how ‘good’, the better for my sensitive skin.) I didn’t expect anything to change by morning. I was wrong!
I awoke with NO PEELING and NO RED PATCHES! I can feel the spots that had been acting up, and they are still rough, but this was my first time using the Gentle Soothing Booster. Let me tell you, it works. I went the entire day without having to do anything to my face and it is still not peeling. After a few more uses I know my skin will be clear and smooth, and with continual use of Dermalogica products, I will finally have skin I can be proud of!
